Maternity Pics!

I needed to update so here it is:

I went for my 6 month check-up at the doctor and everything is going great. One problem though is that my doctor goes on vacaction October 19-23 and my due date is October 22. So we will have some options about when I deliver as the time comes closer. If I am moving along good and my cervix is going good, she will induce me on my birthday, October 16, or that Saturday, which is Maddy's birthday! So we will just wait and see what happens!

We still haven't decided on a name for the baby boy!

We started looking into things for the baby registry. Wow, there are so many options and we were both overwhelmed. Hopefully, we will have some decisions made before my shower which is going to be on Sunday, September 13=)

So last night Andrew took some maternity pictures for us! They are amazing! Here are four of them to look at while you wait for some of the others. Let me tell you we had a blast taking them and I don't think I have laughed that much in such a short period of time in a long time!

It's a Boy!!

It's a boy!! We went to the doctor on Thursday and got the news Josh had been praying for! I am not mad or sad but every girl wants a little girl and every guy wants a little boy so I guess Josh won this time!

So the actual ultrasound was quite comical. I had just gotten on the table, got the jelly on the belly, and she was trying to adjust the picture on the screen when this picture popped up=)

It is a good thing we wanted to know because he was showing it off!! Everything looks good so far. He is measuring right on target and has everything he needs. The ultrasound was kinda taking a little longer than expected because he wouldn't stay still. He has been like this for every ultrasound so far. So I guess he takes after his mommy, he isn't shy or quiet and is on the move all the time!! He already weighs 10 oz. at 19 weeks. This is a little bigger than all the averages I have been reading. So I am a little nervous that I might have a huge beast of a baby by the time he is born. Both Josh and I were pretty big babies so chances are good our baby will be too. I am pumped though that we can start looking at boy stuff for his room!!

This is a 4-D glimpse of the baby boy! I was a little freaked out because he looks scary. Josh loves it though!

This is another 4-D picture of him!

These are both of his feet!

This one is so awesome! I love it! It makes everything so much more real! I can't feel him yet so the only reminder that I am pregnant is when I look down at the growing belly!

We do not have any names picked out yet before anyone asks! We will be working on this but it is such a hard decision because it is so permanant!

Well, I am off to Tyler's graduation party! Happy Saturday everyone!

It's getting closer!

There is so much going on right now in my life that I am I feeling a little overwhelmed. Most of the stress is due to school. We have 2 full days and 1 half day left this year. It is crazy how fast it has flown by. I was watching a slideshow of our pictures from the class trip and started crying. It will be hard to watch this group of kids graduate and move on to high school. I feel extremely close to them and have had them for the 3 years that I have been at STS and have watched them grow up to be amazing teenagers with a tremendous amount of potential. Anyways, I have so much stuff to do in my classroom to prepare it for summer break and then before you know it, it will be time to put it all back together. I might be piloting another book this year, but at least it is Math. So I will be fine, I will just have my hands full with school and the baby.

Speaking of the baby...I go to the doctor next Thursday, May 28 for my 5 month checkup and for an ultrasound. So we will finally know what the sex of the baby is. I am just hoping for a healthy, happy baby. I would prefer a little girl but would be just as happy with a little boy.

Well, this weekend is full of more graduation parties and Memorial Day parties. Friday night - Halee, Sunday - Lenzie and Ryan, Monday - VanMeter partay! Something even more exciting is happening this week also, my little brother and Tay will be getting married one year from Friday. May 22, 2010 =) We will be reserving some chalets at Burdette for family and friends to stay at after the wedding this week, yay! I already have a babysitter planned for the night, haha! Nothing like being prepared! Robersons mark your calendar so you can be sure to be here too, we can even share the babysitter!!

He or She, Which Will It Be?!?

I had my 4 month check up on Thursday. Everything is going well. The heartbeat was a steady 160. She was having a hard time finding the heartbeat because she said the baby was moving around like crazy. Our child is already a crazy wild one but at least we already know he or she will fit right in with the family. I scheduled my next ultrasound for May 28 and we get to find out the sex of the baby=) It is so hard not knowing. I admire those people who wait and don't find out. I definitely could not!

Last night, we went out to dinner for Mother's Day with my grandma, parents, 2 uncles, Mary, Joe, and the Beckwith girls. It has been pretty exciting getting my first Mother-to-be Day cards. I have received a few but last night I think I got my favorite one. It was from Abigail and Sara and it was a homemade card! It said on the front: "Happy Mother's to be Day!" The inside said: "Girls like to dress in pink. Boys like to dress in blue. Who will Baby Burns look like, Josh or you?"

This weekend will be busy as the last few have been as well. Today, we are throwing Shannon her bridal shower. Then have Andrea and Josh's cookout to go to after that. Tomorrow is Mother's Day and Taylor's college graduation.

The end of the school year is coming to an end, YAY! 9 more whole days and 1 half day=)

Pregnant!

In case you didn't know. I am pregnant! Josh and I will be having a baby in October. My official due date is October 22. We are really excited. It just feels like October is so far away and will never get here. It makes me even more excited to know that our child will have so many friends around the same age, like within 3months of each other. Some of the pregnancies are known like Jessica and others I can't spill the beans on yet because it is too early! It seems like there will be soo many new babies here this year! Since there will be so many exciting things happening to us in the near future, I want to share them with all of you who are near and far. Especially for my aunt Cheri=)

In other news, Josh is working again! He is working at Berry! I am not really sure what his official title is though. All I know is that he troubleshoots the machines when they break down.

I took a personal day today so I have a 3-day weekend! I definitely will need it with all the things I have for school in the next 4 weeks!!

Back again!

So it has been a while! I read other people's blogs but can't ever seem to keep up on mine.

I am a little nervous because one of my 20 students has the FLU. He is the first diagnosed case of this winter for his particular doctor. I do not want the flu. I cannot handle the flu. I have already had a cold, sore throat since Monday, and now no voice. I have my fingers crossed that he didn't spread his germs to me or any other students in my class.

I think I have overcome my fears. I had to give an oral presentation to 20 adults on Thursday about a book I am piloting this year. I thought I would be pretty nervous because it was a group made up of other teachers, prinicpals, and administrators. I can stand in front of students talk to them without a problem all day long. Although, I have always feared and would sweat myself to death when I had to talk in front of a large group of adults. But I wasn't nervous or intimidated at all yesterday. It was great not be a nervous, scared presenter!

Stupid People!

I came to the conclusion that idiots should not ever be allowed to make babies. Something medically should be done to prevent accidents or plans from occurring. I usually have a pretty high tolerance for ignorance but today pushed me over the edge. I think I am going to go and drink a bottle of wine!

Change in the air!

My students are having a real tough time embracing change. It was all school related yesterday with new peanut butter and napkins in the cafeteria and today it is with the presidential election. I wanted to pull my hair out, seriously. But I know that I am scared of change just as much as they are. So it was kinda of hypocritical of me standing up there reassuring them that everything will be fine and change is inevitable. I guess the only thing we can do is embrace change with a positive attitude and wait to see what happens =)

Awesome Election Rap

Every day during Social Studies my class watches CNN Student News. It a 10 minute news show made for students. We actually had a SHOUTOUT on there earlier this month. Anyways, today they showed this rap a classroom made about the election. Click the link and watch the video on YouTube. It is awesome! My class loved it and when I got home from school I made Josh watch it and now he is singing,"Obama on the left, McCain on the right." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_gdh1GbIMU

Sickness!

I have been sick this week, thanks to my job. I love my job, don't get me wrong. The one thing I hate is getting sick from my students. If everyone could just learn to cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze, then everything would be great. Washing hands often would also be benefical. I dont understand how some people so smart can't remember to use simple manners when they are sick!

So we had the national mock election today and my class has John McCain winning pretty good over Barack Obama. I don't know what this means!

3 months!

We have been married for 3 months today. Some days it seems like it was jsut yesterday and other days, it feels like we have been married for years.

This was a great weekend! Friday night, we went to the Sugarland concert. Kellie Pickler and Ashton Shepherd were also with them. The concert was awesome, they really are entertainers. We were sitting in one of the sections that got chosen to go down to the floor in front of the first row on the floor, right by the stage. It was awesome! Saturday, we went to Lake Rudolph with the Beckwiths and it was a blast also. Tonight we carved pumpkins with Shelby, Amber, and Josh's parents. Josh's pumpkin was a little sick!

Another weekend came and is now over! Why do the weekends have to fly by so fast?!? This is a short 4 day week and a field trip so hopefully the week goes by fast. Tomorrow starts the Fall Festival, I am super excited! I have been living on the westside for over 2 months now and have only found 1 good thing about it-its closer to the fall festival!!

Craziness!

Life is crazy busy right now! There is never any time to do anything. When will I just be able to sit at home one night with nothing to do?!? The tree is off the house, now we are just waiting to get the $20,000 worth of damage fixed. Don't really have time to write much right now because my bed is calling me.

Wind Storm

We had a wind storm yesterday and guess what? Yes, a tree fell on our house. Not just any tree, a huge oak tree. It hit from the side on the front. It put two holes in the roof, one the size of a football and the other the size of a softball. Then detached the porch from the house, took off the gutter, took off the screens from two windows, took out the mailbox, and made our light pole lean. So the tree people came and removed the tree from the house but it was getting dark outside and their mulcher went out earlier this morning, so we have parts of the tree all in the front yard. They said to not be surprised if it is next Monday or Tuesday before they come to clean up the mess and to cut down the rest of the monster and take out the stump. The company we are going thru had 97 calls for estimates today, I believe this number was just after lunch.

Now we have to wait for an adjuster to come and inspect the damage before we can get any work done. I just hope no squirrels or birds decide to come and join us in the house.

Now we have a basement waiting to get worked on and the exterior of the house waiting also. I just love being a homeowner =)

Thank goodness it is Friday!!

So this was a long week! I am so glad that its the weekend, but they go by so fast that it's crazy. Have I mentioned to anyone how much I hate the ISTEP?!? I was doing some practice problems with my students this week and got more frustrated as the days went on. How can one test say anything about a student? There so many reasons why a student did well or poorly on a test. If you want to get me heated on a subject, approach me with this...Off to the football game, my husband better sit with me on the Memorial side if he knows what is good for him ;)

Pray =)

Isn't it funny how when everything seems so perfect, something comes crashing down and rains on your parade?!? I LOVE how great everything is right now. I am not ready for big changes. (Not talking about a baby) So without going into detail, please pray for me and my situation!

Bad day

I come home from a good day at school only for it to be turned upside down. Josh was taking out the bottom plank in the basement in the extra bedroom and he heard concrete crumbling. Wouldn't you know, the foundation in the basement is cracked and the house is shifting. Matt came because he works in construction and looked at it, then diagnosed the disaster. He said his company just did a job like this and it cost...$20,000. Yeah, it is absolutely ridiculous. So you now know why I am having a bad day. There was one piece of good news, that may be the reason for the leaky basement so we might only have to pay $20,000 instead of the $20,000 and then the waterproofing on top of them. Then we will have to buy the drywall, get it up, and paint. So basically I am pissed, beyond belief. We cant get ahold of the waterproofers because they had already closed for the day. So maybe they can fix it and they will be cheaper than Matt's work. Please pray that it doesn't cost $20,000 and that Josh's interview went so well that they offer him a job!

On a happy note, I got the wedding DVD and pics from the Robersons so I will be posting some stuff soon, that is if we don't have to cancel the internet to save money to pay for the basement.

Here is a peek at some of the pics:

A Big Mess!!

So many of you know about the troubles we have had with the leaky basement. Well, they are coming on Thursday and Friday to waterproof it! This is good news, except we had to cut 4 feet of the walls off yesterday. Josh and Sean started the project till they sawed through a live electrial wire. Thank goodness no one was hurt. So Matt and Josh's dad came down to repair the wire and the boys finished tearing down the walls. We are still cleaning up the mess. It is kinda a disaster! So if you are not busy and know how to hang or finish drywall please let me know. I would like to finish this project soon so we can put all the stuff back down there. We really want to make an extra tv room down there with a big flat screen but I guess we will need walls first.

So I have been so busy doing stuff here and just the beginning of year stuff at school that I have not talked to some people at all in a while. I miss my family and friends! We havent gotten a chance to go and get the pics and video from Tammy, ahahah!! I just want the clock to stand still for a while so I can get a few things done.

Oh in other news, Shannon and Shawn got engaged on Saturday night. We were out to eat and he proposed! It was very sweet and cute. So yet another wedding coming up soon!! Yay, I LOVE weddings! I just dont know what to do because I want to go and have a blast at all the weddings but how can I pop a child out in between all of them someone tell me. Shannon and Shawn's wedding will prolly be in July '09, Matt and Theresa in Oct '09, and then Sean and Tay in May '10.
