We had a wind storm yesterday and guess what? Yes, a tree fell on our house. Not just any tree, a huge oak tree. It hit from the side on the front. It put two holes in the roof, one the size of a football and the other the size of a softball. Then detached the porch from the house, took off the gutter, took off the screens from two windows, took out the mailbox, and made our light pole lean. So the tree people came and removed the tree from the house but it was getting dark outside and their mulcher went out earlier this morning, so we have parts of the tree all in the front yard. They said to not be surprised if it is next Monday or Tuesday before they come to clean up the mess and to cut down the rest of the monster and take out the stump. The company we are going thru had 97 calls for estimates today, I believe this number was just after lunch.
Now we have to wait for an adjuster to come and inspect the damage before we can get any work done. I just hope no squirrels or birds decide to come and join us in the house.
Now we have a basement waiting to get worked on and the exterior of the house waiting also. I just love being a homeowner =)

Thank goodness it is Friday!!
So this was a long week! I am so glad that its the weekend, but they go by so fast that it's crazy. Have I mentioned to anyone how much I hate the ISTEP?!? I was doing some practice problems with my students this week and got more frustrated as the days went on. How can one test say anything about a student? There so many reasons why a student did well or poorly on a test. If you want to get me heated on a subject, approach me with this...Off to the football game, my husband better sit with me on the Memorial side if he knows what is good for him ;)

Pray =)
Isn't it funny how when everything seems so perfect, something comes crashing down and rains on your parade?!? I LOVE how great everything is right now. I am not ready for big changes. (Not talking about a baby) So without going into detail, please pray for me and my situation!

Bad day
I come home from a good day at school only for it to be turned upside down. Josh was taking out the bottom plank in the basement in the extra bedroom and he heard concrete crumbling. Wouldn't you know, the foundation in the basement is cracked and the house is shifting. Matt came because he works in construction and looked at it, then diagnosed the disaster. He said his company just did a job like this and it cost...$20,000. Yeah, it is absolutely ridiculous. So you now know why I am having a bad day. There was one piece of good news, that may be the reason for the leaky basement so we might only have to pay $20,000 instead of the $20,000 and then the waterproofing on top of them. Then we will have to buy the drywall, get it up, and paint. So basically I am pissed, beyond belief. We cant get ahold of the waterproofers because they had already closed for the day. So maybe they can fix it and they will be cheaper than Matt's work. Please pray that it doesn't cost $20,000 and that Josh's interview went so well that they offer him a job!
On a happy note, I got the wedding DVD and pics from the Robersons so I will be posting some stuff soon, that is if we don't have to cancel the internet to save money to pay for the basement.
Here is a peek at some of the pics:
Trevor and Abigail, aww young love!!
Oh and did I mention that we are in the Evansville Bride Guide. Check it out at www.evansvillebrideguide.com It is kinda cool, everyone gets to see us!!

A Big Mess!!
So many of you know about the troubles we have had with the leaky basement. Well, they are coming on Thursday and Friday to waterproof it! This is good news, except we had to cut 4 feet of the walls off yesterday. Josh and Sean started the project till they sawed through a live electrial wire. Thank goodness no one was hurt. So Matt and Josh's dad came down to repair the wire and the boys finished tearing down the walls. We are still cleaning up the mess. It is kinda a disaster! So if you are not busy and know how to hang or finish drywall please let me know. I would like to finish this project soon so we can put all the stuff back down there. We really want to make an extra tv room down there with a big flat screen but I guess we will need walls first.
So I have been so busy doing stuff here and just the beginning of year stuff at school that I have not talked to some people at all in a while. I miss my family and friends! We havent gotten a chance to go and get the pics and video from Tammy, ahahah!! I just want the clock to stand still for a while so I can get a few things done.
Oh in other news, Shannon and Shawn got engaged on Saturday night. We were out to eat and he proposed! It was very sweet and cute. So yet another wedding coming up soon!! Yay, I LOVE weddings! I just dont know what to do because I want to go and have a blast at all the weddings but how can I pop a child out in between all of them someone tell me. Shannon and Shawn's wedding will prolly be in July '09, Matt and Theresa in Oct '09, and then Sean and Tay in May '10.

We are Godparents!
Jackson got baptised today. Jackson is Skyler and Tara's son and Josh and I are his godparents. I was really pumped to be asked to be his godmother. He is so adorable and such a good baby. It was great to spend some time with good friends on the last day of summer. We are really blessed to have such a great family and amazing friends. After the baptism, we went to Hacienda for lunch and margaritas =) Then we stopped by Bailie and Maddy's volleyball game. And went to see our other favorite baby, Braxton!!! I need to stop being around babies so much or I will want one before much longer.
Time to get ready for school tomorrow!!
